Sold My Custom Gothic Prom Dress

Have you ever envisioned something and someone see exactly as you wanted. Well it happened. The dress I designed as the Prom Dress I would of had if I went to my prom went beyond my dreams and has been sold to be a girl name Lauren's wedding dress.

I am so proud that my dress is going to be a part of one of the happiest days of someone's life.

A little hope for the declining economy

On March 4th after the company I worked for already stopped matching our 401k it was e-mailed to all employees that there would be a pay freeze, no overtime paid and a company wide 10% deduction in pay effective Monday March 9th.

For myself that works pay day to pay day this was detrimental. My only option was to try to find a new job that either paid what I made before the cut or even start at the 10% cut in hopes that after 90 days I would be making what I was making. On Sunday the 7th I put in my resume and on Wednesday the 11th I was called to schedule an interview. I made it for the following day at 1 pm and by 3:30 pm I was offered the job at more than I was making before the pay cut!

I'm so happy right now and was hoping to share my happiness and tell people that there is hope keep plugging away. My company even though they cut benefits and pay are still hiring! Cutting corners using the "Economy" for an excuse. I understand cut backs when it's needed but you don't hire high dollar people in a company if you have taken other employees pay! I'm going to give this company the same courtesy they gave to me...a e-mail stating that due to the "Economy" I cannot live with a 10% pay cut for two weeks so please accept my 1 week resignation. I start my new job on March 24!

Every day I notice more job postings so keep your head up high it's going to get better

Vanity Sizes

It is unfortunate that mainly in America we have what we call "Vanity Sizes". Women can't seem to embrace their curves. They are so obsessed with the number on their garment. What do designer do? They meet the customer demand by making larger sizes with a smaller number on the tag.

How many of us have gone into a store and tried on a pair of pants that should be our size but are actually too big?

Sizes don't matter it is how you feel, it's the how the design makes you confident to go to work, go on your first date. The number on the tag...can be lie so be truthful to yourself and accept the fact that you are beautiful no matter what size a manufacturer may put on your clothing.

Happy 150th Birthday Oregon!!!

Can you say Sesquicentennial? The word is not easy to pronounce but the events and plans for its celebration are taking shape all over Oregon!

The first event for my hometown coming up will be a Baker Prairie Cemetery Cleanup Day, scheduled for May 16, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Baker Prairie Cemetery is on the Oregon Register for Historic Cemeteries, and it is in need of some TLC. We're going to be cleaning headstones and markers (soft bristle brushes and water), trimming tall grass and digging out weeds around the headstones, trimming the arborvitae and other shrubs, and generally just sprucing up the Cemetery. Join us and bring your garden tools, gloves, rakes, garbage bags, buckets and brushes. Hot dogs, chips, coffee and water will be provided by CHS, and Sharon and Bob Henry will be serving it up out of their RV. Cross your fingers that the weather will cooperate, and we hope to see you there! CHS feels like having a great big party for Oregon's birthday, and you're all invited! We're bringing back an old favorite which used to be popular with folks around here. The event is still in the planning stages, but a Pioneer Picnic is on the agenda and planned for late July. Date, time and location will be announced, but early ideas call for everyone to bring their own picnic lunch, and CHS will provide Lemonade, coffee and a gigantic birthday cake. We'll have games and activities for kids, maybe some locals with a Canby story to tell, lots of photos to bring back memories, some displays to look at, and neighbors and friends to wile away the day with. For future announcements, check out the Canby Historical Society website.

Dedicated to Tiffany and Rusty RIP

Last year was a hard year for me. We lost our family dog Tiffany at 13 years old and I lost my Rusty Pony at 22 years old. I had to euthanize my pony and I've never had to put an animal down. I cannot tell you how hard that is. My heart aches for all the pets I have lost in my lifetime. I had a custom portrait done of Rusty. I wanted something unique from him. I found a lady Starglow Studio that did custom portraits on Etsy.

Here is a picture of our mutt Tiffany. What a beautiful girl!

Cute as a Button

These are some costumes that I have made except for the Lion one I only put on the zipper. My mom and sister made most of it but I had to put it up because it is so cute!

Gothic Prom Queen

Gothic Prom Dress. I love how this dress turned out. It is a 1950's style dress with an edge. The wrap has a beautiful skull brooch that I purchased from another Etsy seller agonysdecay For all my newest creations please go to Eleen Fashionista
