Has it really been 12 years!

I can’t believe I have not posted in 12 years. How do passions fall asleep for so long? Don’t get me wrong I have sewn some projects during the years including my wedding dress in 2024. I’ve missed my life of sewing so I’m back doing what I love. On my terms, and on my times. Meaning no deadlines at least for the

moment. For my grand reintroduction to my forgotten blog I’m working on a 50’s inspired spring dress. Here is to new beginnings, I hope you join my journey back to Retro Retro Style with a Modern Edge.

Upcoming project for February

I have something different to do in February. I'm pretty excited to do a new design. These pictures are for inspiration. The main thing I need to capture is the ruched bodice and she wants some bling. The back will be a full back and I'm thinking fabric covered buttons instead of a zipper. I ordered the below bling for the gown.

Completed PS I Love You Dress...I'm pretty happy

I love this dress so much! I need to make myself one. As you can tell from my picture I'm very happy with how it turned out. Front and back view on form: Can anyone find my mistake from my previous bodice post? It is unfortunate that a shop on Etsy has been using my blog and my reviews on patterns.com to list the same items as me. It is flattering but at the same time irritating especially when the same pictures are used. I really love sharing how I hack patterns, make my own pieces to create, recreate garments but at the same time I'm trying to run a business and giving away your secrets sometimes hurts. After all the work I did with this dress I found an actual pattern that would make this dress entirely except for the pockets.
