Marilyn Monroe from movie Niagara

What a hot dress! I used a stretch knit fabric. It has a peek a boo bodice with removable ties for either a knotted look or bow look. The initial picture I had you couldn't tell that in the center of the front gathering there is a zipper. I found a huge picture and see the detail. How sexy is that? I used a vintage zipper just to give a little something old.

I didn't have a picture of the back so I did a semi low sexy back. I added some darts to give the back some shape. It has capped sleeves and on a person (mannequin has no arms to support it) is slightly off the shoulders. This dress will hug every curve!

  1. Wow, that is fantastic.

You know, I've worn my green wiggle dress 3 times since you've made it :) I really should send you some pictures when I get a chance.

  5. @ilovecheese no I mixed patterns. For the skirt I used Butterick 5383. The pattern is for stretch only but I have also made one using the same pattern with satin. I just made it a larger size. I don't remember what pattern I altered for the top part but any empire waist dress would work. The next time I make I will be attaching New Look 6244. Easy to attach some sleeves. I used New Look 6002 before but had to modify it a lot to work.
