Day Three: Never enough fabric

I got off to a bad start today as I didn't have enough fabric for the overlay. So I go to the fabric store and get a couple more yards. I start to cut the godets and I don't have enough of that fabric either. So I did what I could with what I had on hand today. I have to take a couple days off because I have an Etsy order that needs to get done. Anyways here is my progress of Day 3.

Here is the skirt part of the dress:

I started on the overlay. Here is the front part. The godlets are going to look so great. There are seven all together. The sides have not been attached but you get the idea:

I finished the lining and attached it to the bodice. I put the trim on the bodice but can't finish it until I put the zipper on. The trim is very pretty and simple. It does not overpower the dress. I haven't decided if I'm going to use it on the sleeves but it will trim the waistline.

  1. wow thats a lot of impressive work.

I love blogs that show the artistic/creative process!

  2. Thanks Clockwork. This is probably the most scariest thing I've made.

  3. It's gorgeous! I can only hem my pants so this type of sewing just makes my jaw drop. I can't wait to see it finished.

  4. Congratulations! You'll be the best dressed bride, and you did it all yourself! I don't even know you and I'm proud of you!! Happy Wedding, I wish you.

  5. You make me wish I could sew! That's going to be so pretty when you're walking down the aisle.
