Grace Kelly Rear Window Reproduction

I'm so excited that I've been requested to recreate the dress that Grace Kelly wore in Rear Window. It is one of my dream dresses to recreate so much so that I had the fabric on hand except the black which I'm debating on using the Robert Kaufman faille I love so much from fabric.com or a black satin. My customer doesn't care about the wheat but if possible I'm going to try to either embroidered it or do some beading. Not an expert at either but have dabbled in it.
Stay tuned it needs to be completed by April 21st!

  2. That is a must with this dress. I've been so busy I haven't had time to post the process but this one has to be shared. I will be using two different Vogue Patterns for this dress. I think they will work perfectly.

Upcoming project for February

I have something different to do in February. I'm pretty excited to do a new design. These pictures are for inspiration. The main thing I need to capture is the ruched bodice and she wants some bling. The back will be a full back and I'm thinking fabric covered buttons instead of a zipper.   I ordered the below bling for the gown.

Pattern Giveaway! Vogue 1094

As a pattern hoarder I sometimes forget what patterns I have and don't. Vogue was on sale and I didn't remember having this pattern so I purchased it. When I went to put it away whoops a double! So for my followers and others that stumble upon this giveaway here is your chance to get a way cute pattern for FREE. It is a size 6-12. Just leave a comment below with your contact information and I will use a random number generator on September 30th. International and US are welcomed to participate.

Completed PS I Love You Dress...I'm pretty happy

I love this dress so much! I need to make myself one. As you can tell from my picture I'm very happy with how it turned out. Front and back view on form: Can anyone find my mistake from my previous bodice post? It is unfortunate that a shop on Etsy has been using my blog and my reviews on patterns.com to list the same items as me. It is flattering but at the same time irritating especially when the same pictures are used. I really love sharing how I hack patterns, make my own pieces to create, recreate garments but at the same time I'm trying to run a business and giving away your secrets sometimes hurts. After all the work I did with this dress I found an actual pattern that would make this dress entirely except for the pockets. Message me if you just want to make this dress for yourself and I will give you the pattern number.
