No a bodice can't bring me down

What is the saying...third time is the charm. I finally got the pleating the way I want for the Audrey style dress. It is only pinned and I'm taking out some of the bodice for a higher waistline but even with this inexpensive cotton the gather is turning out wonderful. Imagine when I use the real fabric and the overlay!  The neckline as I study the example more is a lot lower and the sleeves are off the shoulders so where you see the points is where the sleeves are going to attach.

I have two rush orders but as soon as I'm done I will be assemling the mock dress. The skirt is ready. The sleeves just need to be taken off failure number two then it is stitch it all together and one fabulous dress!

If you don't want to search for the two failures click here for my first attempt and here for my second attempt that did have potential but it wasn't good enough.

Upcoming project for February

I have something different to do in February. I'm pretty excited to do a new design. These pictures are for inspiration. The main thing I need to capture is the ruched bodice and she wants some bling. The back will be a full back and I'm thinking fabric covered buttons instead of a zipper.   I ordered the below bling for the gown.

Pattern Giveaway! Vogue 1094

As a pattern hoarder I sometimes forget what patterns I have and don't. Vogue was on sale and I didn't remember having this pattern so I purchased it. When I went to put it away whoops a double! So for my followers and others that stumble upon this giveaway here is your chance to get a way cute pattern for FREE. It is a size 6-12. Just leave a comment below with your contact information and I will use a random number generator on September 30th. International and US are welcomed to participate.

This Etsy shop is making me so mad

I don't know why  Viola Vintage   keeps listing the same items! She did it first with my Marilyn Monroe dress now the Keira Knightly wedding dress. She has fabulous stuff so why take from someone else? This is the reason why I can't blog or go on pattern reviews and share how I create things. If I do then this shop uses the information and sells the same items. I've even been watermarking my photos because of it! I guess I missed a couple. Those are easy to google though.
